Count the working days between two dates, excluding weekly offs and your public holidays. You can also add a number of working days to a date, for example to find the last day of a notice period. Everything runs in your browser.

A working day is any day an employee is normally expected to work. That excludes the weekly off and public holidays. The calculation is simple, but the details trip people up: which weekend pattern applies, whether both end dates count, and what happens when a holiday falls on a weekend.
If a public holiday falls on a day that is already a weekly off, it does not reduce the working days a second time. The breakdown shows these separately so you can see why a holiday "didn't count". Some employers give a substitute day off in that case. If yours does, add the substitute date to the holiday list.
October 2026 has 31 days. With a Monday to Friday week there are 22 weekdays, and Gandhi Jayanti on Friday 2 October takes one away:
The same month with Sundays and the 2nd & 4th Saturdays off has 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays off (10 and 24 October), so it has 24 working days after the holiday.
When an employee takes unpaid leave, many employers work out a daily rate by dividing the monthly salary by the working days in that month. For a ₹42,000 salary in a 21-working-day month, the daily rate is ₹2,000, so two days of loss of pay deducts ₹4,000. Other policies divide by calendar days, or by a fixed 26 or 30. The method must match your payroll policy and appointment letters.
Count every calendar day in the range, subtract the weekly offs (for example Saturdays and Sundays), then subtract public holidays that fall on a day that would otherwise be worked. A holiday that lands on a weekend is not subtracted twice.
By default, yes. HR and payroll almost always count both ends, so 1 to 30 September is 30 calendar days. Untick "Include end date" if you need the gap between two dates instead, for example when counting days until a deadline.
A year with a Monday to Friday week has 260 or 261 weekdays (up to 262 in a leap year), before public holidays. With a typical 10 to 15 public holidays, that leaves about 245 to 250 working days. A Monday to Saturday week has about 313 working days before holidays.
Choose "Sundays + 2nd & 4th Saturdays" as the weekly off. Many Indian banks, government offices and private employers follow this pattern. The 2nd Saturday is always the one falling between the 8th and 14th of the month, and the 4th between the 22nd and 28th.
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman use a Friday–Saturday weekend. The UAE moved to a Saturday–Sunday weekend in 2022, with Friday afternoon off for government employees.
Mainly for loss-of-pay deductions and pro-rata salary. An employer that pays on working days divides the monthly salary by the working days in that month to get a daily rate, then deducts that rate for each unpaid day. Others divide by calendar days, or by a fixed 26 or 30. Check which method your policy uses.
